Caribou 2004 was an outsanding success, with over 200 people wandering with us to the Manoir, and many people celebrating in satellite celebrations.

See pics from our celebration in Montreal here.

There was a particularly successful satellite celebration in Saskatoon. Here are some quotes:

"My second visit. I am looking forward to finding that damn caribou! Kudos to Edder and Tim!"

"Roses are red, violets are blue, I got drunk with the caribou."

"I'd rather be shooting a wandering caribou, but drinking my face off is alright. If your bags are packed and the chicken's in the box you must be good to go."

"I thought this was the evening of the galloping kaola bears!"

"Where are my wooden shoes?"

"My first caribou night - maybe I'll be wandering by the end of it."

"Nice hooter!"

"Where's my drink? Happy caribou to you."

"A few more beers and I might find that darn wandering caribou."

"I think I'm in the wrong bar - I'm looking for the well directed moose. Oh well."

"I came to honour the caribou wearing gold. I hope I did him justice."

"Any reason to drink is good with me."

"Cheers to the wandering rookies like me."

"Only an occasion such as the wandering caribou can generate such excitement and debotchery on a tuesday night in march."

"How come only a day is devoted to celebrate the wandering caribou - I think it should be made a season!"

"I came, I saw, I conquered the caribou. Let the hunting begin."

"It was a night like no other. There were people and caribou everywhere. They were drinking and eating; living as one. It was very strange. I quite enjoyed it."

"I've got a bit of a situation here. There are people and caribou everywhere. I'm not sure if this is OK, but I feel that it is OK. Some people may have some social hang-ups regarding people and caribou, but I think it can work. I mean hey, we at least have to give it a try. After all rules were made to be broken and why not start with this rule? If so, who made the rules - who are these narrow-minded people? I don't like them. As far as I can see, I see a world of love, of mutual understanding, where we all get along - man and caribou."

"I'm glad you found your maynard caribou! I was wondering why you kept licking everyone's neck. Perhaps this is part of the tradition, if so that is pretty sick since the tradition originated with your brother."

All in all, a successful wandering caribou celebration in Saskatoon. 25 people at Maguires, phone calls from 2 more when I got home, and several people who said they'd show and then were no shows. The happy dance was done in the parking lot on the way out. Gold medallions were worn all pimped out and they were left for me to wear the rest of the night. Someone like my hooters. Some think I'm mentally stable - haha - sure fooled them. And I phoned Tim so that everyone at the Manoir knew Toon town was in the house. Someone said as usual, I throw a great party. The caribou handshake was changed to antlers growing out of tits, but she had the tits to pull it off. Someone brought all their buddies from work, who had no clue what they were celebrating but showed up anyway.
